Coroner identifies man whose body was pulled from Milwaukee River
MILWAUKEE - The identity of the man whose body was pulled from the Milwaukee River Tuesday has been identified.
Darnell Thelen, 35, was reportedly out with his girlfriend on Monday afternoon. The couple went to various locations around Milwaukee, at one point picking up and drinking two bottles of wine, and ended up at the pier at Chicago and Water Streets.
Thelen's girlfriend told the Milwaukee County Coroner she didn't remember anything after walking down to the pier. A surveillance camera near the scene showed Thelen scoot over the side and onto a lower deck.
Thelen's girlfriend was pulled from the water later Monday evening, and Thelen's body was found around 1 p.m. Tuesday. An autopsy is being performed.
