MILWAUKEE - On Tuesday July 22nd, the Milwaukee Common Council will take up the proposed ordinance to lift the cap on taxicab permits, and establish provisions for companies like Uber and Lyft.

The proposal also allows companies like these to operate in Milwaukee legally and abide by the same requirements in place for other vehicles licensed by the city.

The ordinance is meant to accommodate the rapidly changing transportation market that has been operating in Milwaukee without regulation for several months.
