Chicago's gun ban struck down
CHICAGO -- A judge has ruled that Chicago's gun ban is unconstitutional.
The city wanted to ban all sales and transfers of firearms. The judge said that despite the fact city officials want to stop gun violence, a complete ban on firearms is illegal.
Chicago'd murder rate fell to it's lowest point since 1965 in 2013, but their total of 415 homicides was still significantly higher than totals in some larger cities, such as New york (333 homicides in 2013) and Los Angeles (250 in 2013).
