Charges filed after three basketball players were shot
MILWAUKEE - Charges were filed Saturday after an argument over a cigarette prompted a shooting at a street basketball game.
According to the criminal complaint, a woman asked a group of basketball players for a cigarette Monday as they were playing in the street in the 15-hundred block of South 26th Street, but an argument ensued.
Police claim 18 year old Roberto Drake Rodriguez showed up about 15 minutes later and began shooting in the direction of the players from across the street.
The victims, ages 15, 16 and 17 were treated at a local hospital.
Rodriguez was picked up by police after a chase Monday.
