Carroll University students shave heads for cancer
WAUKESHA -- Dozens of Carroll University students are now bald.
They shaved their heads, beards and eyebrows to benefit the Saint Baldricks Foundation, which funds research for childhood cancer.
Junior Kimberly Semenas raised more than $1,400 on her own.
Semenas has donated twice to "Locks of Love," and this time she decided to get rid of it all.
"I can't believe that I actually did this," Semenas said. "I started crying when I felt the scissors come really close to my head."
The fundraising effort raised almost $5,000.
"It's a feeling I've never felt before in my life," Semenas said. "I've always had long hair...it's just awesome that I can do this to raise money for cancer."
