MOUNT PLEASANT - A Burlington man is in the hospital after a two-vehicle crash on STH 20 Wednesday morning, police say.

It happened just before 7:30 a.m. Wednesday on STH 20, between International Dr. and the East Frontage Rd. Police say the 59-year-old Burlington man was driving an SUV when he rear-ended an asphalt truck that had slowed down due to heavy traffic ahead.

The Burlington man sustained "severe injuries to the lower portion of his body", and was flown to a Milwaukee hospital via Flight for Life. His SUV was totaled. Police say none of his injuries are expected to be life threatening.

The driver of the truck was not harmed, and the truck sustained only minor damage.

The Burlington man will be issued a citation for inattentive driving. Alcohol and drugs aren't believed to be factors in the crash.
