Brown Deer home 'a total loss' after fire

BROWN DEER -- Multiple fire crews were called to a house fire in Brown Deer around 1:30 a.m. Friday.

The home, near the intersection of 53rd Street and Glenbrook Road, was engulfed in flames by the time first responders arrived.

Due to the extent of the damage, the home is a total loss, according to the North Shore fire department.

Firefighters on scene said the home was vacant and under foreclosure. There were no injuries.

A cause of the fire is pending further investigation.
