Bridge detours means added DOT staff
GREEN BAY - The dip on the Leo Frigo Bridge in Green Bay hasn't gotten worse, according to measurements taken from sensors placed on the bridge.
However, it does remain closed tonight, as crews search for a cause of the sagging. Now, the DOT is bringing out a second highway service team to help drivers who break down in the increased detour traffic. The addition of the truck and staff hope to ease congestion and back-ups caused by broken-down vehicles or crashes.
"Freeway service teams are specially equipped vehicles that are designed for quick response to accidents on major highways, major freeways, any roadway that is really a high volume of traffic," says Mark Kantola with the Wisconsin DOT.
