MADISON -- Dairy farmers in Wisconsin are getting a boost from a worldwide bump in butter sales.

Prices are up to as high as $2.40 a pound. That's an eighty percent increase over four years ago.

The Journal Sentinel reports a growing global middle class and an increase in products with no artificial ingredients have both contributed to the growing demand for butter.
