MADISON - It appears there's support on both sides of the aisle for a plan to raise Wisconsin's speed limit to 70.  A Republican lawmaker from Manitowoc is planning to introduce the legislation soon.

Assembly Speaker Robin Vos, a Republican, has already said he'd support the bill.  Now a long time Democrat says he'd likely support it as well.

"People aren't paying too much attention to the current speed limit," said State Senator Fred Risser.  Risser thinks speed kills.  But notes, "70 is the standard in many states and many states have higher standards than that.  I think we have to stick within the standard."
