Bake sale being held to honor slain Wauwatosa police officer
WAUWATOSA – Next week marks one year since Wauwatosa police officer Jennifer Sebena was shot and killed by her husband while on patrol.
On Saturday, an event in her honor will benefit the Child Protection Center.
Officer Sebena worked with teens through a youth group in Elmbrook. She was a mentor to event organizer Maggie Ross.
“Jen focused a lot on teenagers,” Ross said Friday morning in an interview on Live at Daybreak.
“People overlook [teenagers] when they’re giving toys and items to donate… we felt like that would be the best way to go about it… to honor her by doing something that she loved to do, which was supporting teenagers.”
The bake sale is being held at the Pick n’ Save at 6950 W State St. in Wauwatosa. More information can be found on the event’s Facebook page.
