MILWAUKEE - Police are trying to find suspects after a shooting and a car crash on the city's north side.

A 23-year-old man died after being shot. It happened at about 3:35 p.m. Friday near N. 37th Street and W. Hampton Avenue.

According to police, the victim was in his vehicle stopped at a traffic signal when words were exchanged with occupants of another vehicle.

The occupants of the other vehicle fired shots hitting the victim.

The victim’s vehicle traveled east and struck several vehicles after the shooting.

Witnesses and family told TODAY'S TMJ4's Shannon Sims that the man walked out of a corner food store at Hopkins and Hampton when someone started shooting at him.

At least five cars were involved in the crash, according to the Milwaukee Fire Department.

There was no initial word on any other injuries.

Police had to shut down the intersection as they investigated the scene.
