Armed suspect robs south side Milwaukee Subway

MILWAUKEE -- Police are looking for an armed suspect who robbed a south side Milwaukee Subway restaurant.

The robbery happened around 6 p.m. on April 16 at the 839 W. Historic Mitchell St. location.

Police said the suspect entered the store, grabbed a soda from a cooler and handed the employee money. As the employee opened the register, the suspect displayed a black handgun.

The suspect demanded money and the victim complied, according to Milwaukee police. After taking the money, the suspect reached in the register and grabbed additional money.

The victim then grabbed the suspect's gun and another employee grabbed the suspect from behind.

The suspect was able to escape and fled the store on foot.  

He was described as a white male, around 30-years-old, 5'6" and 150 pounds. He was last seen wearing a light gray or white long-sleeve shirt, blue pants, and gray and black shoes.
