School closings in Kenosha give thousands extra vacation

MILWAUKEE -- Public and Catholic schools in Kenosha are closed due to snow, adding an extra day of vacation for thousands of students.

But winter break is over and students are headed back to class in many area school districts Thursday.

Cities where schools are back in session include Waukesha, Glendale, Whitefish Bay, Shorewood, and Menomonee Falls. Also Cudahy, Wauwatosa, the Whitnall School District, Mequon-Thiensville, and some Catholic schools are back in session.

Students at other schools will return to class on Monday.
