Appleton man arrested following 45 mile chase

FOND DU LAC -- A Fond du Lac County sheriff's deputy is recovering after the squad car he was driving rolled over during a chase Monday night.

After locating a reckless driver on Hwy 41 SB near Hwy 23, a driver led officers on a chase southbound on Hwy 41. When police deployed stop sticks, the driver exited the highway and collided with a Fond du Lac County sheriff squad car, causing the vehicle to roll over.

The suspect kept going into Dodge County until he hit another squad car, bringing it to a stop.

After a 45 mile chase, the 37 year-old suspect from Appleton was arrested. 

The sheriff's deputy that was hit was transported to an area hospital, treated and released.
