RACINE -- Sixty four cats and dogs, and even a pig, have new homes Thursday after a huge adoption event at the Wisconsin Humane Society on Wednesday.

The animals all received treatment and medical attention at a short-term care facility in Racine after they were found living in deplorable conditions at Orphan Kanines in Caledonia on May 29.

The owner of the shelter was arrested and faces animal neglect and cruelty charges.

The two remaining dogs will be available for adoption Thursday at the Humane Society's Milwaukee campus. The four remaining cats will be available at the Racine campus.
