Alligator caught in Sheboygan
SHEBOYGAN -- A four foot long alligator was spotted crossing a road in Sheboygan early Sunday.
Deputies said the alligator was found around 10:30 a.m. near Indiana Avenue and Taylor Drive.
Police responded to the scene and used a "catch pull" technique grab the alligator. The alligator used the "death roll" to retaliate.
There were no injures in the process.
According to the Sheboygan County Sheriff's Department, the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources took custody of the alligator so they could decide on where to send it.
Law enforcement and the DNR are still trying to determine where the alligator came from, and how it ended up on that stretch of road.
Officials said the DNR is trying to identify an owner.
