Alcohol a factor in wrong-way crash

WAUKESHA -- Alcohol was a factor in a head-on crash in Waukesha Thursday morning.

Police said a BMW driving the wrong way slammed into a semi-truck around 12:30 a.m. near the intersection of USH 18/E Moreland Blvd and Avalon Dr.

The driver of the car, 52,  was taken to an area hospital with a broken hip, numerous contusions and facial cuts. The truck driver, 68, was treated at the scene for minor injuries.

According to Waukesha police, the driver of the car admitted to consuming alcohol before the crash.
