2 killed in Washington Co. accident

UPDATE: A one car accident left two dead Friday morning.

The accident happened around 2:30 a.m. on Wisconsin 164 near County Q in the Village of Richfield.  

The Washington County Sheriff's Department said the two victims, a 37-year-old man and 38-year-old woman, both from Richfield, were in a vehicle traveling northbound when it crossed lanes and entered a ditch line, where it struck a culvert, went airborne and struck a utility pole. The vehicle landed upside down.

The man was ejected from the vehicle, while the woman was pinned inside, deputies said.

Officials said it is unknown who was driving at the time of the accident.

A cause of the crash is still under investigation.


HARTLAND -- Crews are on the scene of a crash on Wisconsin 164 near County Q in Washington County.

All lanes are blocked in both directions while the Washington County Sheriff's Office investigates.

The accident happened around 2:30 a.m. Friday.

No word yet on the severity of the car accident.
