'Absolutely horrible': Community stunned by stabbing of 12-year-old girl
WAUKESHA - Emerging details about the stabbing suspects have parents and students alike troubled by the age of the suspects, and why they allegedly did it.
“I've seen a lot of things on Facebook and my friends are like: ‘Oh my god this is crazy, 12 year olds?’”
Emily Edwards used to baby sit Morgan Geyser just a couple of years ago. Seeing that same person in court accused of a gory plot to kill a classmate just doesn't add up.
“She was never like that,” said Edwards. “She was very quiet always polite, never out spoken or anything like that, so I didn’t think she would do something like that.
All the girls went to a Waukesha School. Parents were sent an email Monday about the tragedy. It included a letter from the police chief with details about the stabbing and some parental tips on how to talk to kids about the tragedy.
“It’s absolutely horrible, it’s frightening,” said Jaime Cutts.
Cutts is one of the Waukesha parents who got the email. Her kids are too young for middle school but the details of the case and the dark connection to the internet really have her worried.
“You just don’t know what gets into these kids heads,” said Cutts. “I guess parents need to get more involved. It’s just sad how many people don’t know what’s going on.”
