Abele: Milwaukee County making a comeback
MILWAUKEE -- Milwaukee County Executive Chris Abele delivered his State of the County address Monday, touching on everything from public transportation, to inmates and the county budget.
Abele spoke to a crowd at O'Donnell Park Monday morning. He says the county's debt is significantly lower, and the county saw a credit upgrade for the first time in many years.
Abele also said there's a reason the "State of the County" was held across the street from the Transit Center - it's because "The Couture" project is moving forward and the transit center will be demolished.
The Couture building will be joined by Northwestern Mutual's new headquarters - the two projects together represent about $750 million.
