TOWN OF SUMMIT - The Waukesha County District Attorney's office will review a deadly crash that happened on Father's Day.

Brett Netke, 42, was riding his bicycle down Highway 18 in the Town of Summit when a car crashed into him from behind.

Responding officers report that passers-by were performing CPR on the man but he was later pronounced dead at the scene.

Town of Summit Officer Dana Hazelton says there normally aren't many bikes on the highway because of a nearby path specifically for bike riders.

"There's actually a bicycle trail that's just south of Highway 18 that's probably 20 feet off the road that's made for bicyclists."

The car involved in the crash was driven by a 20-year-old man from Dousman.

Hazelton says the investigation into why the driver did not see Netke remains ongoing.  "Alcohol and drugs aren't really considered to be a factor at this time but the actual investigation itself, we're still kind of going over some things."
