WAUKESHA - Fire crews worked to put out a car fire that delayed traffic during part of the morning commute for drivers on the freeway west of Milwaukee.

The fire happened on I-94 Westbound near Highway F at about 8:20 a.m. Monday morning.

A Waukesha County Sheriff's Department staff member says that whoever was in the car had escaped.

There is no word on whether anyone was injured or what caused the fire.

Two right lanes were closed due to allow crews to fight the fire.
