Kenosha Soldier Killed In Iraq
KENOSHA - The family of Army Specialist Robert Rieckhoff is inconsolable as they try to come to grips with his death.
"He was a very good person, he’d give you the shirt off his back," his mother Barbara Garwood told TODAY'S TMJ4.
Rieckhoff, 26, was killed Thursday in Baghdad. He died after a rocket propelled grenade hit the watch tower he was in on guard duty.
Rieckhoff enlisted in the Army when he was 18, right after graduating from Tremper High School in Kenosha in 2002.
This was his third tour of duty.
He is survived by his parents and a son and daughter, aged 8 and 4.
Rieckhoff was supposed to return home in June. Funeral arrangements are pending.
