Germantown Woman Charged in Deadly OverdoseBy Elizabeth Braun, Tom Murray, Heather Shannon and Jay SorgiPORT WASHINGTON - Ozaukee County deputies have charged a woman who they say sold drugs to Kati Hammen, a young woman from Fredonia who died of a methadone overdose in December. Kimberly Sell, 38, of Germantown is now behind bars at the Ozaukee County Jail. The criminal complaint says she sold Hammen and Hammen's boyfriend methadone pills for $4 each, and sold drugs to the two of them for about two years. The boyfriend told police Hammen, 21, took methadone pills and snorted Xanax. Methadone includes a high similar to heroine or morphine. The victim's boyfriend says he found her dead in her bed the next morning. Authorities are charging Sell now because autopsy results confirmed that a drug overdose caused Hammen's death. "While this arrest will not bring back Kati Hammen, I'm hopeful that her family and certainly the community can take some solace in that arrest," said Ozaukee County Sheriff Maury Straub. "I also hope the arrest will dissuade others from becoming involved in drug use or distribution." Sell will make her first court appearance Wednesday. She has a criminal record including other drug charges, and faces charges in both Ozaukee and Washington Counties.
