MILWAUKEE - One of two men involved in a deadly home invasion that happened in late February has been formally charged.

Darryl Goates-Sanders faces up to 35 years in prison for allegedly going along with his friend to rob Thomas Viljevac who was known to keep a lot of cash in his house and allow people down on their luck to live at his place for long periods of time.

According to the criminal complaint, Goates-Sanders and his friend went to Viljevac's home in the 200 block of N. 30th Street and were allowed inside because they claimed to know someone who was staying with him at the time.

That's when, according to Goates-Sanders, his friend pulled out a gun and began demanding Viljevac give him money.

The complaint states Goates-Sanders watched as the victim begged for his life, saying, "I don't have no money" before the friend shot Viljevac twice, killing him.

Goates-Sanders' is charged with one count of felony murder.  His friend is in custody and will likely be charged in the coming days.
