Possible Charges Tuesday in Teen Abduction and AssaultBy Jay OlstadWAUWATOSA - In the quiet neighborhood near 111th Street and Meinecke Avenue, you wouldn't know this weekend wasn't so quiet. "It's scary to know, it's so close to home," said neighbor John Jenkins. Saturday, police say a 14-year-old Menomonee Falls girl got into the car driven by a 48-year-old Brookfield man. That man allegedly held her against her will, taking her to an apartment building on Meinecke Avenue. That's where investigators say he raped her in the basement. She was able to break free, run across the street, and call 911. "He was actually my next door neighbor which is even more freaky," said Jenkins. Jenkins says the suspect used to live in the apartment building where the assault happened before he moved to Brookfield a few months ago. "It's a real quiet neighborhood around here. I've been here a year and it's a shame something like that had to happen to a little girl," he said. And it appears this isn't the first time this man has had contact with Wauwatosa Police. According to court records, the man spent 75 days in the House of Correction for propositioning two teenage girls for sex back in 2005 in the very same Wauwatosa neighborhood. No one answered the door at the suspect's home in Brookfield but his neighbors are in disbelief. "I never expected it to be this kind of thing," said Tehsina Takia.
