Man In Custody in Wauwatosa for Kidnap, Assault of 14-Year-OldBy Jay OlstadWAUWATOSA - Wauwatosa Police were questioning a "person of interest" after a 14-year-old girl says she was abducted and raped. It apparently started in Menomonee Falls but ended near 111th Street and Meinecke Avenue in Wauwatosa. "It's a relatively calm safe place," said Lori Riegler who lives in the area. "I am very concerned." She saw at least 10 squad cars line the street of her neighborhood after Wauwatosa Police say a 14-year-old girl claimed an unknown man abducted her in Menomonee Falls and then took her to an apartment on Meinecke Avenue and raped her. Investigators say the girl was able to break free from her attacker, run across the street, and into an apartment where she and a neighbor called police. Saturday night, the girl was being treated at a hospital while police questioned her apparent attacker. "I am incredibly concerned, very, very concerned. I wouldn't expect that to take place in this neighborhood," said Riegler. |
