Brookfield Preschool Teacher Arrested for Bag of Drugs

By Charles Benson

BROOKFIELD - A preschool teacher is under arrest for dropping what appeared to be a bag full of drugs on the floor.

Parents picking up their children at the Goddard Preschool in Brookfield were told by the owner Sharon Lindstrum that there was an incident at the preschool.

"Sharon's very forthright, and very kind, and very willing to share what information was necessary to put my mind at ease, " said one parent picking up her children.

A person familiar with the situation said that a teacher dropped a bag of drugs, possibly heroin in a room. It was picked up by another teacher who took it to the owner who then called police.

The owner would not go on camera but she did say police were called after "what may have been drugs were found." The employee was suspended and police are investigating.

Brian Lang isn't worried. He's been taking his kids here for five years.

"They gave us a note as we were leaving, and that in itself was fantastic, that they alerted us right away," said Lang.

Asked if he would be concerned if somehow drugs were involved with the employee, Lang said "Well yeah, I mean absolutely."

The owner would not comment on the specifics of the case, but parents seem comfortable with the way it was handled.
