Suspect Dead Following Shoot Out With Police in Glendale

GLENDALE - Authorities are investigating a shoot out with police that ended with an armed robbery suspect dead

The incident involved Fox Point Police who followed the suspect after he allegedly held up a Game Stop store in Bayside.

The suspect lead police down to W. Luebbe Lane which turns into a dead end at I-43 - that's when an exchange of gunfire happened.

The shots rang out shortly after 6 p.m. Monday in the residential neighborhood. One homeowner said he heard so many shots he thought it was a machine gun.

Twelve-year-old Breanna Thompson heard it all from inside her house.

"I heard a whole bunch of gun shots going off and I heard police yelling, said Breanna."

"I told my sister to get down and we got down on the ground, said Breanna."

In fact, the shooting forced the shutdown of I-43 in both directions for several minutes as investigators determined there was only one suspect involved.

We're told Fox Point Police fired multiple shots at the suspect in a red car.

They had been following him after a robbery at this GameStop on Port Washington Road. Police say the suspect fired first and police fired back.

They were screaming at the guy, said Breanna. They were telling him, "Get down and put your weapon down."

Authorities are not yet saying whether the fatal shot came from police or whether the suspect turned the gun on himself.

Their investigation continues.
