Troopers Warn Drivers of Pending Storm
WAUKESHA COUNTY - For the past 27 years, Wisconsin State trooper Steve Lindemann has driven through a lot of snow storms.
"In a blink, literally of an eye, you've got a crash," said Lindemann.
But the type of storm he dislikes the most is the one we're about to experience.
"That's when it's the most dangerous for everyone involved for officers as well as motorists. Bridge decks will ice up. Roadways will ice up," he said.
Often times with the these long, light snow falls, he says drivers believe the conditions aren't as bad. And that's when they maybe at their worst.
"In a short order we can get quite a few cars out here to help out with the problem," he said.
Lindemann hopes that doesn't happen but his 27-years of experience is telling him differently.
"The most important thing you can do is slow down."
