UW Group in Haiti Unhurt
MADISON, Wis. (AP) -- Members of a student-led group from the University of Wisconsin visiting Haiti say they weren't hurt when a strong earthquake struck the Caribbean nation.
WKOW-TV of Madison reports the group Engineers Without Borders-UW posted a blog Tuesday afternoon, saying the quake had minimal effects in the area of Haiti where the group is staying.
A representative of the group wasn't sure exactly how many students and possibly faculty members are in Haiti, just that they have been there since Sunday.
The nonprofit group lists its mission as "to design and implement environmentally and economically sustainable solutions to community issues."
