MADISON, Wis. (AP) -- The largest-ever exhibit of Wisconsin-made aluminum Christmas trees is now on display in Madison.

The Wisconsin Historical Museum's exhibit called "'Tis the Season" include 16 trees from the museum's permanent collection and trees on loan from around the state and country. They are in all shapes, sizes and colors from the 1960s.

The most popular, the silver ones, were mostly manufactured by the Aluminum Specialty Company of Manitowoc. After introducing the tree at the American Toy Fair 1959, the company produced hundreds of thousands of trees.

The exhibit also includes trees from Ornament Museum in North Carolina. It runs through Jan. 9.
