Chief Flynn Accused of Continuing Affair with McBride
MILWAUKEE - Police Chief Edward Flynn says he is not having an ongoing affair with journalist Jessica McBride. But McBride's husband Paul Bucher claims the chief is lying and he can prove it.
Chief Flynn apologized in June for having an affair with Jessica McBride. On Wednesday former prosecutor Paul Bucher claimed the affair wasn't over and filed for divorce.
"I have evidence to show in the months of July and August there was significant continual contact between the chief and my wife some of it of a sexual nature," said Bucher.
Bucher says he called and confronted the chief about a sexual encounter on September 14.

"When I learned of it, I called him and he confirmed it. We had a man to man discussion over that, but that was it," said Bucher.
When I asked Bucher what evidence he had that Flynn was still having an affair with his wife he said, "I don't need to produce anything. You need to direct your questions to him," meaning the police chief.
Chief Flynn tells us, "I regret that Mr. Bucher genuinely believes that I continued an extra -marital affair with his wife. I did not. I cannot deny that she and I have communicated and that we met once."
Mayor Tom Barrett doesn't think Flynn should resign. "I talked to the chief this afternoon and I told him I want him to continue to do the job he's done in reducing crime in the city of Milwaukee."
When I asked Bucher about Flynn's response or if he recorded any of his conversation with Flynn he said, "No comment for now."
