Missing Mukwonago Mom Found Alive

TOWN OF MUKWONAGO - Police Chief Grant Turner says a missing woman has been found alive Tuesday night in Glenview, IL.

Kathryn Cruz, 32, called her Aunt; and while on the phone, her uncle called Mukwonago Police.

Mukwonago Police in turn called Glenview Police who picked up Cruz.

Cruz said she left home; walked, ran and ended up in Glenview. She complained of having stomach pains when police found her.

Kathryn’s mom and dad were going to Illinois to bring her back home.

Cruz disappeared Saturday.

According to police, Cruz told her three children, ages 12, 10, and 3 to go a nearby park on Saturday morning. She said she would meet them later. But she never showed up.

Police said she might have been disturbed over something.

"Prior to them leaving the house, she did question the kids on what type of mother she had been," said Chief Turner.

Family members said she was stressed out over a pending divorce and custody issues with her children.

Cruz did not take her wallet, car, or cell phone with her.

"I think Katie's scared. I think she's been stressed, and she may be fearful," said Pat Esposito, Cruz' mother.

On Tuesday, search dogs and helicopters to comb the woods near the Cruz home in the hopes of finding the woman.

Mukwonago Police plan on questioning Cruz further on Wednesday.
