Woman Killed in Truck CrashBy Jay SorgiA woman has been killed in a truck crash in Jefferson County. Sheriff's Department officials say that Lorna Elek, 64, of Ixonia was driving on Highview Road at about 9:20 p.m. Monday night when she drove off the road at a curve north of State Highway 16. Her truck traveled about 100 feet and hit several trees in a wooded area. The Jefferson County Coroner's Office pronounced Elek dead at the scene. She was not wearing a seat belt, and officials say speed and alcohol did not appear to be factors in the crash. |
