Aaron Rodgers' safety.
Remember last year.  Aaron Rodgers was sacked in the end zone by Jared Allen for a safety.  With all that noise and a silent count, I fear for his life.

I got a feeling, and it's not good.
Things could change if Brett Favre comes out and throws rocket balls five feet over every receiver's head, or if the Packers' defense created multiple turnovers.  Adrian Peterson does fumble more than any other elite running back.

Minnesota by 3.  (Editor's note: Lance did not submit a score)
I think it will live up to the hype and be extremely close.

Run the ball.
Ryan Grant will need to run the ball effectively to keep Minnesota from sending the house on Aaron Rodgers and to keep the Metrodome crowd in check.  Time of possession will be a keey stat tonight.

Contain Adrian Peterson.
Take a cue from the 49ers.  Force Brett Favre to throw the ball at least 40 times.  The Vikings can't pull off a miracle every week.

Minnesota 20,
Green Bay 16.
The series is usually tightly played and this one won't be different.  Minnesota wins because of running.  Peterson running with the ball and Rodgers running for his life due to another week of poor protection.

Protect Rodgers.
Even if Chad Clifton plays, the Packers will have a tough time protecting the QB.  They need to run quick routes and play action passes or Rodgers will have problems.

Don't forget Brett.
It's no secret they have to stop Adrian Peterson, but they can't cheat on the run or Favre's quick release can kill you.

Minnesota 27,
Green Bay 21.
Because Adrian Peterson is that good.

Once again, the offensive line.
Even if Chad Clifton plays, there's no way he's 100%.  The Vikings have three Pro Bowlers on the DL.  The Packers also need Ryan Grant to pop runs longer than two yards or play action is moot.

Contain Adrian.
Peterson was held in check last week (85 yards), so it can be done.  The onus is on everyone because he can just as easily run outside as north-south.  Also, Al Harris must watch out.  Favre may throw his way, knowing Woodson has been hot.

Minnesota 31,
Green Bay 27.
If you strip all of the emotion away, the Vikings have the superior OL, DL and RB.  I would give the Packers the edge at WR and coaching, which is why it stays close.  Both QB's are good, but this is also Rodgers' first monster, pressure-cooker game, and we don't know how yet how he will respond.

Long on drives, short on crowd noise.
Long, sustained drives that lead to points and shut the crowd up...that means more managable down-and-distance situations, and an effective run game.

Focus on Peterson, not Favre.
Both Adrian Peterson and Brett Favre are capable of leading a team to victory.  I'm more nervouse about Peterson than I am about Favre throwing the ball 50 times.  I think holding Peterson to under 100 yards and a score is a win.

Minnesota 31,
Green Bay 23.
I think the Vikings win this one, but end up splitting the season series.

Rodgers must stay upright.
Keep Jared Allen and the rest of the Vikings front four off of Aaron Rdogers.  You don't need to break big gainers, but Ryan Grant does need to have an effect or they'll pin their ears back and kill Rodgers.

Focus on AP.
Don't get caught up in the hype of hitting Brett Favre.  Concentrate on Adrian Peterson.  Stop him and you'll have a lot more fundamental success.

Minnesota 27,
Green Bay 20.
The Packers haven't been able to protect Rodgers and stop the run consistently all season.  The inability to perform will cost the Packers tonight.

"What the Blog's
Going On Out
Here?"

Scheme and run your way out of pass rush problems.
The Packers need to get much better per-rush productivity out of Ryan Grant than 26 carries for 99 yards (as he did against St. Louis), and they need to keep the Vikings honest with effective draws, traps and screens to slow down the rush.

Make Peterson do all the work while DB's recall muscle memory on Favre.
On Peterson: you will give up big plays.  Admit it.  Accept it.  Focus your energies on blowing up his O-line, tying his blockers up and making him do the work himself.

On Favre: Al Harris and Charles Woodson have defended Brett Favre-targeted receivers more than any other defenders in recent memory.  Recall that muscle memory, pounce on Favre's tendencies and up the interception total.

Minnesota 27,
Green Bay 24.
If Green Bay is to win this game, it's going to have to be with a two-score margin in the final minutes so that a patented Favre comeback is impossible.  Considering their pass rush against the sub-par and injured Packers O-line along with the lack of run-stopping in recent weeks, I'm not too confident they can get a two-score lead on them.  To prove me wrong, they need to get the lead early and put the pedal to the metal.
