Send Brett Favre a Letter

By Nick Iannelli

PEWAUKEE - Erick Rolfson has plenty of experience communicating with Packer fans, in fact he co-authored a book about it entitled "Letters to Brett Favre" in which he compiles messages from fans writing about Favre from all around the globe.

"These are literally letters from fans from all over the world," explains Rolfson.  "We've got a guy from Switzerland, Australia, Canada, all over the states.  Not just Wisconsin so it's all Brett Favre fans from all over the place."

The book isn't solely filled with letters and messages however, it also contains several stories about the quarterback's life and career.

"Each chapter has a narrative.  So we have letters that support that topic for that chapter."

But with all the commotion involved with Favre moving to the rival Vikings, Rolfson decided he needed to take this idea a step further - away from the bookshelves and into Brett Favre's mailbox.

"Right now what we're doing is we're requesting that fans send letters to Brett Favre," says Rolfson.  "Whether they like Brett Favre or hate Brett Favre.  Whether they're Vikings fans or Packer fans or just flat out football fans.  We're doing a big push right now to receive letters from all the fans so that we can deliver them to Brett Favre."

And Rolfson is guaranteeing that the letters will end up in Favre's hands because the quarterback has personally asked Rolfson to help get his side of the story out to the public.

"We have received a message from Brett Favre.  At the appropriate time we are going to convey it.  So we basically have been sitting tight on the message that we received for the appropriate time to release it to everybody and share it to everybody when the time is right."

According to Rolfson, that time is near. He says that "appropriate time" will likely be around November when Favre comes back to Lambeau in a purple jersey.
