West Bend Mourns Dedicated TeacherBy Jay OlstadWEST BEND - Sifting through years of pictures that mean a little bit more now, John and Dot Bradley are forced to do the unthinkable, plan a funeral for their 34-year-old daughter, Rachael Olson. "She was just a wonderful person. We're going to miss her very much," said John Bradley. It was Friday night just before 9:30 when investigators believe Olson's car crossed the center lane on Highway 144 in the town of Farmington crashing into another vehicle. They're still trying to figure out why but that night Olson died and so did the passenger of the other car, 60-year-old Bette Voeks. Voeks' husband Donald was injured and is in satisfactory condition at Froedtert Hospital. "She loved her children," said Dot Bradley as she fought back tears planning her daughter's funeral. She and her husband say their daughter lived for her two young kids. Not only does Olson leave them behind but also a school she so dearly loved and who loved her. She's taught seventh grade at Badger Middle School in West Bend since 1998. "They're just a super team over at Badger and that just made her life extremely happy. I can't thank them enough for that," said Dot Bradley. West Bend Public School Superintendent Pat Herdrich says there will be counselors available Monday morning for students and teachers at Badger Middle and McLane Elementary schools where Olson's two children attend. It's one of life's toughest lessons that the young students in West Bend are now forced to learn. "We want to make sure there's support for everybody," said Herdrich.
