WAUKESHA - The ex-boyfriend of a woman who was murdered in Waukesha has been arrested, but Waukesha Police have yet to release the name of the victim.
Residents in the quiet neighborhood around S. West Ave. and Wood St. were shocked to see a murder scene in front of their homes late Saturday night. The suspect was released from jail just five days ago.
Waukesha police say a 21-year-old Waukesha woman was stabbed to death and found in a car at the intersection of West and Wood.
"We seen the car over here at the stop sign, and a body in the back seat. We seen it from the bedroom window. About fifteen squads here, police surrounded that house," said neighbor Doug Neumann.
Police arrested the victim's ex-boyfriend at the Mid Point Motel on Appleton Ave. in Milwaukee on Sunday morning. The suspect's name has not been released by police, but court records show the man has a long criminal record for resisting arrest, harassment, and child abuse. The 29-year-old hadn't even been out of prison for a week.
Police are not naming the victim or releasing what may have motivated the killing. Officers searched a home on West Ave. across from the murder scene.
More details are expected on Tuesday.
