Parrotheads Set Sail For Alpine ValleyBy Stephanie GrahamSix guys from Wind Lake like to take tailgating to a whole new level at Jimmy Buffet concerts. It started 12 years ago when they built a mini bar. The bar has grown every year, but the guys still weren't satisfied. "We thought, you know what, we gotta do something different you know, so we built a small boat, and it kept getting bigger and bigger," says John Klimek, the leader of the group. This year the boat is 24 feet long, has two levels, and can hold dozens of people. The boat took about two weeks to build. The guys will drag it to Alpine Valley on a trailer Saturday for the Jimmy Buffet concert. The wooden contraption may not be "sea worthy", but it does have plenty of bells and whistles, including electricity for the margarita machines and pizza ovens. The guys expect hundreds of folks to visit the boat throughout the day. The concert is Saturday August 29 at Alpine Valley Music Theatre in Walworth County. Entertainment begins at 4 p.m. with Cedar Island Band and Matt Wahl, The fun Side of Life, with special guests from the Coral Reefer Band. Jimmy Buffet takes the stage at 8 p.m.
