Fans Watch Emotional Jackson ServiceBy Michael GeorgeMILWAUKEE - All over the country, fans of the late Michael Jackson gathered to watch the emotional memorial in Los Angeles. Milwaukee was no different. In Milwaukee at the Wisconsin Black Historical Society, workers shouted in the streets holding Jackson posters to spread the word about a gathering to watch the memorial on a giant monitor. Diehard fans young and old watched the memorial at the historical society. Sara Wong was one of many fans glad to see people in Milwaukee celebrating Jackson's life. "If I can't be in Los Angeles, this is where I need to be," Wong said. It was a day of mixed emotions. There was joy at seeing so many share their feelings about Jackson. There was also sadness as Jackson's daughter tearfully spoke about her father. "I understand it's a celebration of his life, but there's also definitely grief there," Wong said. Few people talked about Michael Jackson's trouble in his personal life. The memorial wasn't supposed to be about that. "Let's think about the good things of Michael Jackson, not the bad," said fan Michelle Pitts. What it was about was remembering the music and the humanitarian work of one of the biggest entertainers of all time. "They will never find another Michael Jackson," Pitts said.
