Report: Student Died of Overdose

By WTMJ sister station KMTV-TV with Jay Sorgi

OMAHA, Neb. - A 21-year-old Creighton University student from Hartland, Wis. died from an accidental drug overdose, according to the Douglas County (Neb.) Attorney.

Don Kleine tells WTMJ sister station KMTV-TV in Omaha that the cause of death is "drug toxicity." He says Jonathan Colby died from an accidental overdose of oxycodone, a painkiller.

Colby's body was found in the living room of his Creighton residence hall last month.  He attended Hartland Arrowhead High School.

Kleine says he doesn't know if the oxycodone were prescribed to Colby, or if he obtained the prescription pills from someone else. He says police are still investigating where the drugs came from.
