Employee Murdered Outside NightclubBy Mick TreveyMILWAUKEE - Milwaukee Police are investigating the murder of 37-year-old Yevgeniy Zlotin outside of Zarko's North Star Night Club. According to police, Zlotin left the club at about 3:30 a.m. Tuesday with another man just before the shooting. Employees said Zlotin worked at the club and identified the other man as the club's owner, Michael Tsirlin. They said the men had finished closing the nightclub for the night. Tsirlin's family said the men were confronted by five other men who demanded money. Police said it was too early in the investigation to release details about a motive or the suspects. Zlotin lives in Brown Deer with his pregnant wife and daughter. Neighbors spoke highly of his dedication to his children. Larry Magar said, "It's a shock to all of us and we're really going to miss a man like that." Both Zlotin and Tsirlin are well known in Milwaukee's Russian community. Zarko's North Star Nightclub has been in trouble with City of Milwaukee regulators. The club was issued a warning letter for disorder on the premises. Specifically, the city cited underage drinking and fighting on the property. The club is located at 4126 N. Teutonia Avenue. |
