Fight on Summerfest Flyer; Two ArrestedBy Diane Pathieu and Jay SorgiWhat started out as a fight on an MCTS freeway flyer bus heading to Summerfest turned into a family affair, with two people arrested. It happened on the on-ramp of eastbound Brown Deer Road to southbound I-43 by the Brown Deer Park and Ride in River Hills. A woman, 18, asked a man to move his bike. The man punched the woman and spit on her, so the bus driver pulled over. The suspect took off with his bicycle. The woman and her brother remained on the bus. Milwaukee County Sheriff's deputies arrived to find the woman intoxicated. They arrested her and her brother. After she entered the squad, she managed to get her handcuffed arms in front of her, opened up the divider in the car and broke the computer in the squad car. Her brother, who was also intoxicated and on the bus, tried to jump a fence and got his hand stuck, injuring his hand. Both the brother and sister were treated for injuries, and they were arrested on suspicion of disorderly conduct and underage drinking. They have been released. The suspect who left the scene is still at large. |
