On the next day, police say that Jordan cousin asked him if he had anything to do with the shooting. According to that cousin, Jordan admitted to having a role.

Police then went to his home and found a sawed-off shotgun, along with a camouflage coat which a police officer saw him wearing on the day of the murder. There was also a nylon jacket with lining where there appeared to be blood.

The complaint states that on June 20th, a woman named Sherita Quinn told police that Jordan was at her home, and that he had admitted to her that Haefner was trying to reach toward his gun, and that if he did it again, Jordan would shoot. Police then arrested Jordan.
