RIPON - A 68-year-old Ripon man arrived home last Friday to find a burglar stealing cash and a gun from inside his home.
Instead of letting the burglar get away, the homeowner got out his own gun and held the suspect at gunpoint until deputies arrived.
The homeowner dialed 911 while he held the burglar. He told the operator, "I got my burglar right here now. I got him at gunpoint right here now. If he moves I'm going to put a bullet in his a**."
The suspect was later identified as 23-year-old Michael Roehling of Berlin.
“Shut up and lay still," the homeowner said on the 911 call. "You got it? If you even flinch I'm going to put a bullet in your a**."
You can hear the burglar crying in the background, even apologizing for the burglary.
The homeowner kept asking police to hurry. "If you don't get somebody out here quick, this guy's going to die," the homeowner told the operator.
The homeowner says he doesn't know the suspect or why his home was targeted.
The Fond du Lac County Sheriff's Department says the homeowner will not be charged.
