Man Wrongly Arrested, Released, Now Detained Again
The man Racine Police wrongly arrested, then released for a deadly hit and run, is now detained again.
Santiago Rodriguez-Morales was brought back to a Racine County Jail cell on an immigration hold.
He was brought behind bars after police thought he was Francisco Gonzalez-Cruz, a fugitive wanted in a deadly hit-and-run crash from 10 years go.
Fingerprints showed that Rodriguez wasn't the guy.
The Racine Journal Times says that family and friends are now working with immigration officials to clear his name.
