FDL Authorities Release Jane Doe Picture

By By Erik Bilstad and Jay Sorgi

She was found by hunters in the town of Ashford way back in November.

Today, the Fond du Lac County Sheriff's Department is hoping for a break in a Jane Doe murder case.

They know she's between 15 and 21 years of age, and she could be Hispanic.

On Tuesday, they put a face to the body.

Authorities released a computer generated facial reconstruction photo.

"It's basically done by obtaining 3D images of the skull using a CT scanner, and then the reconstruct the soft tissues on the computer," said Sheriff Mick Fink, a guest on Wisconsin's Morning News.

He's hoping the photos will garner some media attention outside of Fond du Lac county.

"I'd love to saturate the Milwaukee area, Chicago, and four, five, six states or nationwide if we could," said Fink.

"We're pretty sure she's not local, at least in Fond du Lac County. Milwaukee, Chicago, those kind of places, we're not sure of, but we're going to keep hammering away on this thing."

Fink described how urgent this case has become to his department.

"We started out with a cold case, and if we can't get this thing out and get her face in front of somebody that knows here and loves her, this is just going to get colder.

"This kid had a good family unit around her, because she has sealants and fillings in her teeth. That leads you to believe that someone at some point in her early life was taking care of her."

Fink said identifying the young woman is the only way they'll find who's responsible for her death.
