Fire at House in Franklin
Several people had to run for safety after a fire in Franklin.
The fire occurred around midnight Friday morning near the corner of South 35th Street and Ryan Road.
The house was nearly destroyed, and the garage and a minivan all were greatly damaged.
"The fire was just wild," said Sophia Dorios, a neighbor. "Within minutes, the house was up in flames."
The two homeowners and their young granddaughter got out of the house safely.
"The house is gone but they have their wedding pictures (and) 100-year-old pictures of a great, great grandma," explained the neighbor.
"We are just so glad that they're fine. They can rebuild the house."
No other homes were threatened by the fire.
Early reports indicate that the fire may have started in the garage, or from the minivan, then spread to the home, but there is no confirmation on that report.
Investigators remain on the scene to attempt to confirm the cause of the fire.
